Come out for a night hike to witness the spectacular courtship display of the America Woodcock (aka Timberdoodle). We’ll take a short walk along mowed trails through an old field. Bring a headlamp or flashlight as the display starts around dusk. Weather dependent, rain date is the following night. Meet at 273 Charlotteville Road 2, St. Silliams, 2.2 km east of Forestry Farm Road just north of St. Williams. If the weather does not cooperate, the event will be rescheduled for Saturday March 27. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at the Vittoria Community Centre. Doors open at 7:15 p.m. and the program begins at 7:30 p.m.
Various field outings are also planned throughout the year, and include trips to local conservation areas, bird banding, winter tree identification and much more. Field outings are free of charge.
