This all-day event is similar to a Christmas Bird Count and involves identifying and counting local butterflies. Join one of our “winged jewels” experts and help tabulate the species and numbers of butterflies in Long Point and surrounding area — part of the North America-wide annual count. Our record number of species is 55 — let’s beat that this year! Contact Adam Timpf, 519-429-4147 or adam.timpf@gmail.com for details. Note: On occasion, circumstances beyond our control may require cancellation of a planned event. All event cancellations will be posted on the NFN web site.

Meetings

Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at the Simcoe Recreation Centre, Norfolk Room. Doors open at 7:15 p.m. and the program begins at 7:30 p.m.

Field Events

Various field outings are also planned throughout the year, and include trips to local conservation areas, bird banding, winter tree identification and much more. Field outings are free of charge.
