Event: Fascinating Fungi: Mushroom Identification–Field Event (pre-registration required)

(Event held in conjunction with LPBLT)

Join us on a Fall hike at Trout Creek (LPBLT’s property) to look for and identify mushrooms and other fungi of all shapes and sizes. Bring a camera as you are not allowed to harvest mushrooms on this property. To get there, go west on McDowell Rd. E. out of Simcoe, turn north (right) on Yuell Rd., west (left) on Charlotteville Road 10. Park along the road by #361. Leader is Inga Hinnerichsen.

Maximum 15 participants per session.

Pre-registration required through Eventbrite. Eventbrite link for pre-registration will be emailed to members in mid-September. Masks are required. Proof of full vaccination is required when arriving for the hike.

Meetings

Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at the Simcoe Recreation Centre, Norfolk Room. Doors open at 7:15 p.m. and the program begins at 7:30 p.m.

Field Events

Various field outings are also planned throughout the year, and include trips to local conservation areas, bird banding, winter tree identification and much more. Field outings are free of charge.
